Students for climate
Gisteren meegelopen met Students for Climate’, in Maastricht. Het is nieuw voor Maastricht deze massale en overtuigende protesten van studenten. Zij hebben zich in ieder geval breed georiënteerd en wetenschappelijke studies gelezen. Natuurlijk mag er kritiek geleverd worden op interpretaties maar een ding kan men niet negeren en dat zijn de zorgen van deze ‘climate generation’, voor hun toekomst. En het is hun toekomst.
Politici hebben decennia deze berichten over het klimaat genegeerd. Van het gebruik van bestrijdingsmiddelen, de CO 2 uitstoot, het kappen van steeds meer bomen (Rain Forest), de aantasting van de biodiversiteit, de zoet water stromen van Groenland naar de Antarctica. Decennia werd niets ondernomen nog het ‘plastic’ probleem (moet van burgers komen) doch de oude politiek wacht af want het kost hun nog weinig stemmen. Ook dat merk je als je met de demonstratie meeloopt, op het terras (Vrijthof) zat een gezin dat de moed had om voor de protesters te klappen. Langs de route veel onbegrijpelijke gezichten want het contra-news van tegenstanders zaait twijfel en creëert dit onbegrip. De toeristen die Maastricht aandoen om eens heerlijk bourgondisch te happen en stappen werden wreed uit hun droomweekend gewekt. De meesten willen echter de protesters Extinction Rebellion Maastricht (NL), Student for Climate en Left Life negeren maar dat wordt moeilijk ‘we’re unstoppable’!
’s Avonds keek ik naar de regionale visie van onze gesubsidieerde omroep. Onze mars kwam badinerend langs in 15 seconden waarin werd opgemerkt dat een paar honderd studenten (overigens 1500) deelnamen tegen de eerste grote mars op het Vrijthof met 3000 protesters. Wat een journalistieke diepgang / constatering! Het item dat volgde was zeer interessant. Het ging over Meneer Pastoor in Rimburg (Landgraaf), waar je met je pin-pass een kaarsje kunt aansteken voor al het menselijk natuur geweld, en kunt doneren voor het vrome, aardse katholieke bestaan. Het item duurde ruim twee minuten. X rebellie-actie wees bewust van deze lokale politiek L1 / media, dat al eeuwenlang gevangen zit in de bondage-klem van Vadertje(???) kerk.
Spijt dat de universiteit naar Maastricht kwam???

Joined yesterday the Students for Climate march in Maastricht. It is new to Maastricht, this massive and convincing student protests. In any case, they have a broad orientation and have read scientific studies. Of course, interpretations may be criticized but one thing cannot be ignored and those are the concerns of this “climate generation” for their future. And it’s their future.

For decades nothing has been done yet the “plastic” problem (must come from citizens), but the old politics are waiting because it still costs them few votes so let Europe vote for climate justice. You also notice that when you walk along with the demonstration, there was one family on the terrace (Vrijthof) that had the courage to clap for the protesters. Along the route many incomprehensible faces, because the counter-news of opponents, sows doubt and creates misunderstanding. The tourists who visit Maastricht, to have a delicious Burgundian meal, were awakened cruelly from their dream weekend. Most of them, however, want to ignore the protesters Extinction Rebellion Maastricht (NL), Student for Climate and Left Life, but that is difficult “we’re unstoppable”!
In the evening I watched the regional vision of our catholic subsidised broadcaster. Our march came by in 15 seconds. It was noted that a few hundred students took part against the first big march on the Vrijthof with 3000 protesters, diminishing the protesters. The item that followed was very interesting. It was about Mr. Pastor in Rimburg, where you can light a candle with your pin-pass and donate for the devout Catholic life. The item took two minutes. X rebellion student action be aware of these local L1 politics / media, which have been spending for centuries in the bondage clamp of Father (Vadertje) (???) church.
