  • ‘Darling Blue’, is een van de vele liederen met een paralelle ‘boodschap’ het laat, zoals het kubisme toont en meer vormen aan zich bind dan slechts een reële voorstelling. Het laat meerdere gezichten zien, een houvast zonder boei, gelijk een rivier buiten haar oevers treed.
  • het verhaalt een liefde die zich begeeft van het uiterlijk naar het innerlijk en vice versa. Een spiegel die niet gelijk haar gezicht toont maar handig gebruik maakt van het licht dat oplicht en tegelijk het masker verduistert.
  • Een vorm die terugkeert en verandering opslaat terug neemt als mee buigt.
